ZTE wins world's largest fixed network transformation contract

ZTE Corporation (A share stock code: 000063.SZ /H share stock code: 0763.HK), a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, has been selected by Turk Telekom, the fifth largest fixed network operator in Europe, as the sole supplier of core network equipment and services for a nationwide all-IP network transformation project. |
The total capacity of the network will be 17.5 million lines with more than 31 sites, making it the world’s largest ever fixed network replacement contract.
ZTE will deliver a comprehensive next generation solution including an IMS (IP multimedia subsystem) core network, a comprehensive service platform, MSANs (multi-service access nodes) and large-capacity trunking gateways.
The network will enable Turk Telekom to launch experience-rich converged services including VoBB (VoIP over Broadband), VCC (Voice Call Continuity), Converged One Number, Converge Centrex, UMS (Unified Message Service), MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service), MRBT (Multimedia Ring Back Tone) and NP (Number Portability).

Turk Telekom is one of the largest operators in Europe, with both fixed and mobile networks. Its traditional PSTN equipment is facing several challenges though, including high space requirements, high power consumption and aging equipment which makes it hard to launch new services, and results in high operation and maintenance costs.
