To make its customers’ IPL experience more interesting, Vodafone also launched the ‘Vodafone Star of the Match’ competition. Through this competition, Vodafone provides an unparalleled opportunity to all its customers to be seen on national television being honoured by the winning captain during the post match ceremony. The winning captain will present the ‘Star of the Match’ with a personally autographed match ball. One ‘Star of the Match’ will be chosen for each of the 60 DLF IPL matches that will be held this season. |
Since this is a nationwide competition, Vodafone will provide each winner with a return trip air ticket and hotel accommodation at the city where the match is played. The competition starts on March 9 and will continue till the end of DLF IPL season III. Both prepaid and postpaid Vodafone customers can participate in the ‘Star of the Match’ competition. To participate, Vodafone customers have to call 121 (toll free), and answer a simple question related to cricket.
Speaking on this initiative, K Sankara Narayanan, CEO Vodafone Essar South Limited said, “DLF IPL is one of the most awaited events in India and we are happy to launch a service that provides our customers the convenience of buying IPL tickets through their mobile phones. With the ‘Star of the match’ contest, we also want to make this an opportunity for our customers to become an integral part of cricketing history.”
