Vodafone launches 50p tariff in Karnataka
- For any local or STD calls or SMS to any phone across any network in India
- Everyone, Everywhere now at one tariff of 50p
Bangalore, Sept 24, 2009 – Vodafone Essar, one of India’s leading cellular service providers, has launched new tariff offerings for its new and existing prepaid customers in Karnataka. The 50p/min to any local or STD phone (mobile or landline) and 50 p for local or national SMS to any network anywhere in India is a completely innovative tariff proposition.

Existing Vodafone prepaid customers in the state can avail of this low tariff by a recharge of Rs 75 or Rs 119 with validity of three months and six months respectively.
These recharges can be purchased from Vodafone Stores, Mini Stores, through online recharge and from over 40,000 retailers across Karnataka starting Sept 24, 2009.

Sankara Narayanan, Chief Executive Officer - Karnataka, Vodafone Essar South Limited, says “A customer today finds it difficult to distinguish between a local and a STD number as the number series for any operator is not in a uniform or consistent pattern. This uniform pricing strategy by Vodafone empowers our customers with a product that is simple, convenient and affordable. Our prepaid customers, close to 40 lakh in Karnataka alone, need not worry about whether they are calling or messaging a local or a national number.”
