Telcordia, a global leader in the development of mobile, broadband and enterprise software and services, proudly announced that it received a Billing & OSS World Excellence Award for “Best Network Management |
Implementation” during an award ceremony last night at the Billing & OSS World 2010 Conference & Expo in Washington, D.C. The awards recognize excellence in a communications service provider’s (CSP’s) business from vendor-enabled or internal initiatives. In addition to winning this award, Telcordia was also a runner up in the “Best Cost Management Implementation” category.
Telcordia’s winning submission centered on a European tier 1 operator challenged with efficiently rolling out high-speed, mass-market multiplay services on a national scale. Telcordia implemented a geospatial platform to consolidate and accurately record the operator’s existing copper and fiber infrastructure, then ultimately manage its FTTx build-out. Key to the implementation, Telcordia® Network Engineer provided automated design capabilities and superior network management that enabled the operator to determine the location and connectivity of all its equipment, tie individual customers to service availability, and efficiently offer broadband service to its large customer base.
“Our solutions are about helping CSPs realize the potential for speed and efficiency in increasingly complex operations. This award recognizes our leadership in achieving that, especially for the particular challenges of Tier 1 carriers across extensive network assets, resources and change programs,” said Bill Wanke, President, Operations Solutions, Telcordia.
According to Wanke, the operator saved USD$600,000 in the first three months of deployment and identified more than USD$45 million in unlisted network assets. Numerous time and cost savings were realized in the planning and record-keeping phases as well.
This win continues a highly successful year for Telcordia, which has won a Global Telecoms Business Innovation Award for its work with Tata Docomo as well as being a finalist for a number of prestigious industry awards, including “Best Billing and Customer Care Solution” at the Global Mobile awards.
