“Romano combines more than 25 years of deep technical, product development, and R&D expertise with operational leadership and extensive customer experience in China and, more broadly, Asia Pacific – making him a natural choice for this job,” said Rajeev Singh-Molares. “Romano’s deep experience in optical networking will also strongly benefit Alcatel-Lucent Shanghai Bell as it continues to help its Chinese customers aggressive deploy fixed broadband networks throughout the country.”
Prior to his roles as president of the Optics division, Romano was chief operating officer and Product strategy director of the Alcatel Terrestrial networks division. Prior to that Romano was the senior vice-president of Product strategy and Development for the optical networks division and, earlier, the head of the division's R&D and Global marketing.
