RCOM employees donate 12 boxes of daily use items to Mother Teresa Missionaries
Chandigarh, August 27, 2009 -- Reliance Communications, a telecom arm of Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, donated 12 boxes of daily use items such as clothes, toys, books, shoes, utensils and some cash amount today for the use of inmates of Mother Teresa Missionaries of Charity, Sector 23, here.
As a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, employees of Reliance Communications collected these articles for the noble cause of supporting the needy and deprived ones by donating their mite.
Mr Arvind Kumar, Hub Head, Reliance Communications, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu& Kashmir Circles said that companies, like individuals, solely depend for their survival, sustenance and growth on the support and goodwill of the communities of which they are an integral part, and must pay back this generosity in every way they can.
For us, being socially responsible is not an occasional act of charity or that one-time token financial contribution to any cause but is a continuous year-round commitment, which is integrated into the very core of our business objectives and strategy, Mr Kumar further added.
The RCOM officials present among others were Mr Rajesh P Vyas (HR Head), Mr Vimal Gupta (Circle Commercial Head).
