Indian mobile market crosses 500 million in November

- Total Telephone subscriber base reaches 543.20 Million
- Wireless subscription reaches 506.04 Million
- Wireline subscription declines to 37.16 Million
- 17.65 Million new additions in wireless
- Wireline subscription declines by 0.10 Million
- Overall Tele-density reaches 46.32
- Broadband subscription is 7.57 million
The number of telephone subscribers in India increased to 543.20 Million at the end of November-09 from 525.65 Million in October-09, thereby registering a growth rate of 3.34%. With this, the overall Tele-density in India reaches 46.32.
Wireless subscriber base increased from 488.40 Million in October-09 to 506.04 Million at the end of November-09 at a monthly growth rate of 3.61%. Wireless Tele-density stands at 43.15.
Wireless Service: Service Provider wise net additions during the month (in percentage)
Wireline subscriber base declined from 37.25 Million in October-09 to 37.16 Million at the end of November-09. BSNL/MTNL, two PSU operators hold 85.35% of the Wireline market share. However, they lost 0.13 Million subscribers in the month of November-09. Overall Wireline teledensity is 3.17.
