Idea 'Campus Ke Sirji' reaches College campuses in Chandigarh & Rest of Punjab

Continuing with its commitment to offer unmatched communication and infotainment to its subscribers, using the mobile platform, IDEA Cellular, the pan Indian mobile operator, has once again launched a unique talent hunt for singing sensations of Punjab.

In a reaffirmation of its commitment to discover and nurture talent in Punjab, IDEA Cellular is going to 100 Colleges in 6 cities across the state, to select a Singer, Dancer, Model and a Public Speaking Expert amongst the students.

IDEA Cellular which recently announced one of the biggest Talent Hunt program in Punjab Colleges, 'Campus Ke Sirji', reached the College campuses in Chandigarh today, in its hunt for young singers, dancers, models and public speakers. A beeline of students was seen at the Government College for Men and Women at Sector 11 in Chandigarh, and Government College in Phase 6, Mohali.

Idea 'Campus ke Sirji' is a unique talent hunt launched by IDEA Cellular to give an opportunity to the young college goers to showcase their skills amidst their peers and other people across the length and breadth of Punjab.

In its first phase of the Annual Contest, 'Campus ke Sirji' which spans top colleges and universities across Punjab, the registration was also held in Khalsa College for Women, Amritsar; BD Arya Girls College, Jalandhar; PCTE, Ludhiana; Rajinder College, Bhatinda; and Bikram College, Patiala, besides the Government Colleges in Chandigarh and Mohali today.

The registration for Idea Campus ke Sirji will be held in Chandigarh Colleges as per the schedule below:

Registration counters have been set up inside College campuses. Every student who registers for the contest is getting an Idea connection, absolutely free. All the details pertaining to the schedule of the contest, semi-finals and the Final will be sent to the candidates on their Idea numbers.

Flagging off the contest Mr. Anish Roy, Chief Operating Officer - Punjab, J&K and Himachal Pradesh, IDEA Cellular had earlier said, “The Youth of Punjab is talented, ambitious and has the urge to do something big and different. However, the lack of opportunities at the local level becomes a hindrance in the realization of their dreams. To address this gap, Idea has launched, 'Campus Ke Sirji', wherein we will go to 100 Colleges in Punjab to identify and promote talent. We are hopeful of a lot of participation in this activity. The campaign will strengthen our bond with the youth of Punjab, who will then become ambassadors of Brand Idea in the state”.

The winners would be judged under various categories Singer, Dancer, Model and a Public Speaking Expert and will get an opportunity to feature in Idea's 'Campus Ke Sirji' Posters, besides the chance to perform amidst large gatherings of people across different parts of the state.

In the semi-final round, Idea will select one winner in each of the four categories from all the participating colleges. Further on, Zonal Winners would be picked, one in each category, from the six zones i.e. Chandigarh, Patiala, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Jalandhar and Bhatinda. These 24 candidates will get to compete with each other, in their respective categories, in the final round, at an event to be held in Chandigarh. The final four winners would be crowned as Idea 'Campus ke Sirji'.

Keeping in view the communication needs of students, Idea has launched a 'Student Pack' offering affordable tariffs. The pack offers local Idea calling at 20 paise per minute and all SMS at 10 paise, along with one year validity. The new student pack also offers one month free subscription to Education Portal and free downloads worth R450 from Idea Fresh portal.
