Idea brings the 'World of Tamil' to Coimbatore

As the Tamil world congregates in Coimbatore, IDEA Cellular, the pan-India mobile operator has introduced a unique utility service for mobile subscribers to get instant information on places of tourist attraction, restaurants, hotels, hospitals, events, and transportation facilities in and around the city of Coimbatore.

These services are being made available in Tamil to benefit lakhs of visitors who are expected to visit the city this week.

Idea’s new initiative - Tamil Ulagam - is designed to help travelers and other Idea subscribers with their queries pertaining to city specific information, generic information on the World of Tamil, and downloads such as Tamil Special Bharathiyaar songs, Kollywood Special songs, Tamil folk songs, History of Tamil Conference, and other interesting trivia on Tamil.

Idea subscribers in Coimbatore, or any other part of Tamil Nadu can download Dialer Tones and Ringtones by dialing 523451. Travellers roaming in the city or any other part of TN can also avail these services by calling roamer info helpline 56665. Calls to 523451 will be charged at Rs.6.99/min. All users of this portal will get 60 minutes of Comedy on Voice absolutely free.

Mobile users visiting the city from the neighboring states like Karnataka, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh, besides other In-roamers can also avail these services by choosing ‘Idea’ as their network operator in Coimbatore.

Announcing the new campaign, Mr. Srinivas M., Circle Head - Chennai & Tamil Nadu, IDEA Cellular said "Our new initiative will enable Idea subscribers and Roaming travellers to get information about Coimbatore and other facilities and services available in the city with just one phone call. This is one of our endeavours to provide services which offer more value to the people of Tamil Nadu."

Idea has roped in Brand Ambassador Shriya Saran to promote Idea’s Tamil Ulagam campaign in Coimbatore and other parts of the state. Shriya’s hoardings and posters are seen at every nook and corner of the city.
