COMPRION launches test case programming environment for card testing

Paderborn, Germany, 20 April, 2010

(U)SIM testing has never been as comprehensive as with COMPRION’s new Test Case API. With the opportunity for card manufacturers and operators to create their own complex test scenarios, COMPRION has moved card testing up to a new level – way beyond conformance requirements.

No doubt about it – conformance testing for (U)SIMs is an absolutely necessity to cover basic functionality and standards. But it’s not enough; conformance tests for the UICC only detect a tiny part of possible communication errors with mobile equipment.

To ensure maximum quality and to save card manufacturers and operators from cost-intensive card failure, COMPRION has created the Test Case API. This test programming environment
is available for COMPRION’s card testers Spectro 2 and ICC Spectro and lets you test technical vulnerabilities against internal specifications and corporate knowledge. It provides access to the full spectrum of hardware features, making COMPRION’s card test solutions unique in the market.

With the ability of the API to access all related UICC-interfaces such as ISO, SWP/HCI and IC-USB, COMPRION’s card testers can be used as development tools for new technologies. Furthermore,
the programming interface allows electrical and timing measurements as well as data and error manipulations beyond the specified limits.

Far superior to user interface-based development tools, the Test Case API offers the full spectrum of the .NET programming framework without encumbering the test case developer with the hardware-specific complexity of our products. The solution offers easy usage for simple tasks and facilitates programming
with auto-completion and a context-sensitive help menu. Moreover, the programmer receives a multiplicity of examples and base class templates.

The Test Case API is independent of COMPRION’s card tester software. If a customer already uses their own software solution, COMPRION’s card test hardware and API alone are sufficient to integrate the programming environment into the existing tool chain.

Already used by leading card manufacturers for securing high quality (U)SIMs, the API’s great range of functions also helps operators, who use components of various suppliers, to reconstruct errors and find their cause.
