BSNL launches “Per Second Billing” for post-paid customers

New Delhi: 4th December, 2009: India’s largest integrated telecom service provider, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL), today announced new plans exclusively for its postpaid customers.

Aimed at providing economical options to its subscribers, registration for new postpaid connections is now free of cost. Security deposit for new postpaid connection (Local+STD) has been reduced from Rs.1000 to Rs.500 and entry for new customer has been made more easy and affordable. Further, the Security deposit is refundable to BSNL’s loyal customers from 6th month onwards.

Chairman and Managing Director of BSNL, Shri Kuldeep Goyal said that “Per second billing will be an advantage for customers. BSNL has introduced per second pulse in postpaid plan 225. ISD calls are now available on per second pulse making it more affordable and attractive”.

Shri Kuldeep Goyal, CMD, BSNL has also added that “Based on the customer usage patterns, we have introduced unique product offerings that are designed to offer great value for money to our customers”.

The CMD further disclosed that “The roaming charges under postpaid plans have been reduced substantially so that the customers on roaming can now make voice calls without worrying about higher roaming charges. With the reduction in roaming charges the outgoing call will be at par with the normal calls made from home circle”.

BSNL has redesigned Plan 525 to suit the need of corporate customers with 15 sec pulse and lot of freebies in Voice, SMS, Data and Roaming minute in addition to free calls worth Rs.350. The call charges and SMS charges are also very cheap at 30p/Min for local and 50p/Min for STD. 300 minutes incoming and outgoing calls are allowed on national roaming which will help corporate customers who are always on the move to be in touch with corporate world, friends and families. Two unlimited plans (Plan 725 & Plan 1500) have been devised to meet the need of high end customers where unlimited usage is allowed for On-net local call, STD calls, night calling, Local SMS and GPRS.

He further added that “In addition to the cheaper call rates, additional facilities of reduced rate call on two BSNL local number @ 20p/Min and night calling @ 50% of normal call charges of the plan is allowed without any additional charges. A customer can have one rent free Add-on connection for his/her family member to which all calls made from the main number and vice versa is free. For customers who can afford annual payment, two months rental is allowed as discount. The 3G postpaid plans have been made more affordable and attractive wherein the customer has to pay only Rs.25 per month over and above the existing 2G rental for availing 3G facilities like video calling, high speed data, mobile TV etc”.
