Mr. N K Goyal, President CMAI was invited to the Consumer Electronic Show 2009 (CES 2009) at Las Vegas as a VIP and honored with invitation from India to inaugurate CES 2009 and ribbon cutting ceremony on 8th January, 2009. The show attracts over 5 lac visitors from across the world with more than 3000 booths covering 1.71 lac sq m.

Mr. Goyal observed that:
- There is air of hope and optimism that with President elect, Mr. Obama taking over in late January, 2009, there will be change and new policy initiatives will spring back economy and groom prevalent in market.
- Even though there is economic meltdown, the consumer IT telecom sector will grow and will create more jobs and GDP growth for USA and other parts of world.
- Innovations are going to be way forward and key for economic growth.
- There is large awareness on the part of consumers, manufacturers and policy makers to go green and adopt environment friendly policies.
- Inspite of recession the bookings for CES 2010 were about 70-80% as per my estimates. That is a proof of testimony of faith for people in this sector.
- The market transition is convergence of every conceivable item in the world. The line between consumer, telecom, IT, automobile, home entertainment is diminishing faster than we think of.
- The market trend is converting from device centric to network centric, personal data to community data, Next Generation Network to Visual Network.
- Network is emerging as a platform and partnership is the key for future success.
- Exciting innovations coming in home television viewing with new TV user interfaces with multiple windows, widgets, innovative remote controls, internet connected TVs, STBs, game machines with Over the top (OTT) video capabilities.
- The goal past of future are going to be open competition between companies & countries, access for everyone and realization that ideas/innovations would be free of borders
Mr. Goyal has committed the following to the US Commercial Department which would organize and assist for CES 2010:
- CMAI ( www.cmai.asia) would like to publish a book of US Delegation Country wise with name of delegation leader and brief of companies.
- CMAI would host a reception at CES for all US delegates for Business Networking Purposes
